In this photo i was trying to find a way to avoid the straight forward portraits that I was taking previously. The black in her key creates the dark point along with her eyelashes. I used the rule of space to make the picture more interesting.
This photo was taken like a more typical portrait. I wanted to make sure there was enough white to create the high key picture.
The final high key photo was taken from a slight angle which allows it to use the rule of space as well as rule of thirds. The darkest points are her eye and hair.
This is my first low key picture. I like the way it seems to create movement as your eyes travel upwards. I think it would have been better if the keys were a little brighter.
I think this is the best one
because of the really dramatic contrast between the light and the dark. I put the flower on a golden point and under exposed the picture so that it would have a very dark background.
This is my final low-key photo it shows the whole alto-sax with most of the light falling on the upper section. I like how there is one bright area and a lot of shadows.
