Golden Spiral Photos

In this photo I tried to capture the golden spiral as it moved along the left edge of the flower before swirling  into the center. I also liked the negative space in this photo.
I noticed how from a certain perspective the locks on the schools locker followed the golden spiral, so I tried to get a picture shoeing this affect.
I noticed how if you looked at the bottom edge of this flower you could easily see the edge of the golden spiral highlighted against the back before it moves into the center of the flower.

Rule of Thirds Photos

I noticed how the stop sign in front of the school stood out from the background, so I tried to line the pole up with one of the vertical lines while also putting the center of the sign on a golden point.
For my picture with a partner I had trouble coming up with an idea, but i decided to use my mom pointing something out to my brother. Her body is on a vertical line while her arm is on the upper horizontal one.
In this photo I wanted to frame the stone wall while also leaving on the beam above it. I put the beam on one of the horizontal rule of thirds line, and then I put the hole in the stone on a golden point.

In this photo I lined up the chameleons eye on the
rule of thirds line. It is also on the golden point.
I love this photo because the chameleon's color really pops.

In this photo I also put the gecko's eye on the
golden point. I also like the sort of depth the blur
in front creates.

In this photo I put the beta's eye and the waterline
on the rule of thirds. It focuses on the main subject
when the eye is on the golden point.

The sun is the center of the spiral.

I noticed the spiral on the ground and tried to fill the frame.

Michelle creates a spiral, her head is the center.

This was taken after this assignment was due. The flower is the heaviest part so that is the center of the spiral.

The Golden Spiral

I captured this picture with just the right lighting behind the lamp to portray the golden spiral.

I took this picture of my camera to portray the golden spiral

In this photo I enhanced the white highlights to give a sense
of more shadow and depth.I also converted this
photo to back and white. As you can see the golden
spiral starts on the point of the shell.

In this photo I burned the edges to balance the light and
dark, making the flower seem to pop. The spiral starts
at the center of the flower and ends at the end of the
stem. I like this photo a lot.

In this photo I had my mother move my phone with the
flashlight in a spiral motion. I used a long shutter speed (300)
to capture the movement of the light causing it to show the spiral.

I noticed the bees on the sunflower and though it would make for a interesting photo. I tried to keep the rule of thirds in mind. I find that the vertical and horizontal lines match up with the bees on the head of the sunflower. I enjoy the light that shines through the sunflower as well as the negative space. I feel this is a visually pleasing photo.
. I toke this photo while I was at Bishops Pumpkin Farm in the gift shop. It caught my eye because it had complimenting colors. The vertical line of the rule of thirds graph, lines up with the body of the butterfly.

For the partner photo, I asked my brother to be the subject of it. I tried to capture his stunning eye color while still applying the rule of thirds. I tried my best to get the horizontal and vertical line to meet with his eye but it is slightly off.

I took a photo of this rose because I thought it had a nice spiral and interesting colors. A golden spiral can be noticed in the way the rose's petals flow. Starting in the center, you follow the rose petals natural flow and you can detect a spiral.
This sink drain had a circular shape to it. I tried to position the camera to where you can see the spiral. You start in the middle and go in a spiral so the tail of the spiral is in the direction of  the top right corner of the photo.
Here is another photo of the same sink drain at a different angle. There is a sharpness to the outside of it, while the middle is more blurry.

This next photo, my friend held up what looked like copper coated wire so I could snap a photo. I tried to capture a spiral because the way the wire was wrapped around it already had a spiral. I think the photo had some potential in theory. This is not the best photo. However, I can not pinpoint a distinct spiral. However, I think this photo is interesting to look at.
This weekend I toke a visit to Bishops Pumpkin Farm. I went into the sunflower labryinth and came across what seemed like hundred of pretty sunflowers, and lots of bees. The spiral starts in the middle and goes around the sunflower counter clockwise, and the tail of the spiral lands in the top right corner. I enjoyed the negative space in this photo.

This is the original photo of the library I took before school. The problem was the reflection in the window I was looking through. I was attempting to get the blinds on the horizontal line of the rule of thirds grid.

This is the post-Photoshop version of the photo. It's cropped and balanced now. The rule of thirds lines now match up with the appropriate subjects. It was also turned black and white. (Vertical lines)

Uncropped

Cropped to fit on lines. (Horizontal lines)

Michelle lines up with both a horizontal and a vertical line. I'm not entirely sure but her facial features like her eye hit the golden point. (Both)

I took this picture for the Rule of Third.
I took this photo to show the Rule of Thirds on her eye.

I took this picture to kind of show the Rule of Thirds.

I took this picture of a shell to show the golden spiral.

This shows the rule of thirds with Lotus's eyes being on the lines.
This shows Jesse and Vinny messing around but also the way their bodies are straight to the lines.

This shows the tree being on the right side of the photo and also shows being on the straight line.

In this photo, Fatima's smile is on the golden point.
Kenna's eye is on the golden point and her hair is on a line of the rule of thirds.
There are lots of horizontal and vertical lines in this photo. The top and bottom horizontal lines are on the lines of the rule of thirds, and his body is on the vertical line.

I took this photo to show the Rule of Thirds.

I took this photo using the Rule of Thirds to focus on the model's eye color and contrast of skin tone when the light hits them at an angle.

The point of focus in this photo is the tip of the shell. That is the golden point. The shell shows spiral lines.
The golden point of this photo is the center of the rose. It is also the only subject in focus.
The golden point of this photo is the center of the rose. It is also the only color of the photo so it is very dominant.
